MOST typical Malaysian Chinese life (if you're in the 80s or 90s kids), since 9(std 3) you are told to do well in you PTS so that you can skip std 4 and straight to std 5 (seems more added value and ''ada muka'' to your family)... Then when you're 12(std 6), you are told to do well in your UPSR in order to enter into the best secondary school...Next when you turned 15(form 3), you are told to get good results in you PMR then 17(form 5), you are told that you can do whatever you want and whatever course after you have your SPM certs(sounds MERDEKA right, haha, well hell NO!....)When you received your certs. most of you who wanted to further studies in form 6, 18 yo-most probably you will automatically do well in your STPM cuz that's your choice to get into the local Uni & for those who prefer to go to college life will most probably go to your nearest EDU fair and get more information and your parents are sure there with you...After you gathered all those information, you sit down or walk around and think carefully or perhaps see what course is your favourable or what course your buddies will choose...or some of you have already know what you want to pursue....HAHA! this time you think you can choose what you want...too bad, I'm so sorry to say that most of you don't actually have the chance to choose instead you'll noticed that your parents both started to calculate the fees and analyse which they thought is more suitable for you and your future...they wanted you to be what they wanted you to be...so some of you will end up having a long long discussion with your parents while some of you will agree to their decisions...they are smart, they don't sound forcing you to that particular course..but you agree it....because you are still young and they are your parents, you dare not to challenge their experience and go out there and explore yourself... unless you are financially independent...move out and make your own decisions, but too bad, you're still not! So some, I bet you will agree upon to what they said. OK...as time goes on you are told that after you have graduate from your A-level or Pre-U or diploma, etc...you can choose your major in degree...and for real to 50% of you will be the lucky one...and sorry to the other 50%...haha, you are still a baby, you do not have the chance to choose what you wanna pursue, by then you are 21 yrs old...before that, you are told that you can really do whatever you want and they won't care about it cuz you finally get your gold key...to be honest, that is not real too...the gold key is just a symbol that you are officially 21 yo, the rest, whatever that is you gotta fight for it...wanna MERDEKA...you will have to sacrifice, and fight for your MERDEKA...and it'll definitely be a long long difficult "war"....(if you're living in a not open minded, non-diplomatic, adversable place)...so you gotta be very patience...if you're are financially independence, congraz to you! To be honest, you ain't MERDEKA yet even you pass 21 (even though by law you are suppose to have your own rights, your own choice, your own everything...but by the eyes and by the law of you PM, I'm so sorry....you're are still a colony....
I wrote this as I believed this applies to many of the young ppl....I do not imply any bad things on this note...but this is a whole, not really an ideal system..and I do not think that if this system continues to be practiced, things will change to be better...somehow and probably this system is making worst scenario to happen. If any bad things were to be happened, full responsibilities must be taken, there are no turning back....no regrets....bare the consequenses....
What a LIFE...LIFE=Lock In Fenced up Environment....
